Land Lubber

We did notice an interesting phenomena this weekend . . .

Savannah, Georgia is a port city. It has been since the beginning of time. It is very near the coast, but also has a river that allows for major ships to come into protected areas. (Our trolley tour guide, Pookie, explained that the river has been made deeper and the majority of the world's shipping ships can now navigate it.)

So, Savannah is very much a pirate, seagoing identified sort of place. There is lots of nautical references in their decor and enterprises.

What we noticed is that a good number of the bar stools/chairs were covered in a very slick leather and were rather slippery. It took some attention to not slide right off the chairs and under the table. Although, it is a nice method for bartenders to know when to stop serving you. . . no drinks delivered to the floor.
