Sparkle's Wedding

Okay -- Sparkle is talking so I can report details.

The wedding took place out doors, in a MidSummers Night's Dream sort of theater. Lots of trees, moss covered rocks, long shadows.

I know, ironic. The queen of glitz and glamour going for subdued and shadowed.

Just family was invited -- none of her fans, no make-up and hair stylist, no oiled up boys. But, just as the wedding was getting started - Sparkle's boss and his family CRASHED!!!! Sparkle was a bit startled to see someone linked to the university and representing authority - but, the wedding finished without interruption or nervous break down.

There was a meal afterwards at a local public house - and the boss/family tagged along -- which intitally caused some discomfort and scramble to accommodate. Afterwards, Sparkle and his bride (now to be known as Bride of Sparkle) went to a small inn. Only to find the Inn closed up. We don't know if they were rejected because the manager knew about Sparkle's past -- or if perhaps he feared Sparkle would "out" him. They ended up going home, sneaking past relations, and crashing in their own bed.

Sparkle says that although he was nervous, he now is enjoying the novelty of being a man again. He's embracing the responsibilities and "warm fuzzys" of marriage -- he sees it as a "hopeful" step in his life. But, he also admits that it nearly killed him to not wear white. Musn't compete with the bride.

I asked if this were a result of a) the tragic accident that ended her career as a diva or b) residual depression over losing so much weight or c) being replaced by some youngster who seems to be getting all the press. He said a bit of it all.

Apparently, the nesting instincts have kicked in -- the happy couple have a new kitten, Simon.
