Today, the first human friend I ever had asked me what I want for my birthday.
I'm going to actually get to spend my birthday with this friend, this year. We actually share a birthday. And, for the first time in 33 years, we're going to be together on that date.
I realize that the things I have wanted in life are those things that are the hardest to get. A safe and comfortable home. A life partner who makes me a better monkey. Rewarding, fulfilling, and challenging work. The most amazing friends.
And, I have gotten every single one of those things. I really am the luckiest monkey in the world, because I have gotten everything in life I ever really wanted.
