Because I'm making sangria. Last week-end, after an inglorious flop of my plans, I consumed 6 very large pimm's cups to make myself feel less like a frustrated failure. (Easiest thing in the world, once you find Pimm's No. 1 . . . 1.5 oz pimm's, 3 oz lemonade, top with 7-up and a cucumber slice.)
Today, I buzzed by the market on the way home and picked up a couple peaches, a plum, and a nectarine. I took my big, fiesta pitcher and poured in 1 can peach nectar, 1 bottle of gewurztraminer, 1/2 a cup of sugar, and all the fruit, chopped up. I'll let it sit in the fridge for a while, and when I serve it, it'll be topped with club soda. I plan to be sipping it all day tomorrow while I wallow in the inflatable oasis.
