There's probably a lesson in there

The Old Woman told me, repeatedly, that "patience is a virtue." Pretty much, the whole notion of patience is offensive to my existence.

Then, I got a grown up job and started living with the Phenom. I figured that, over the years, I'd more than developed patience. Apparently not.

Last week, on the way home from convention, I got to jam out to my favorite tunes, via my iPod. My iPod is one of those items I always have with me. I cannot be expected to prove my love for Phenom by going to wal-mart week after week without my iPod to distract me. After convention, I couldn't find my iPod. I searched all my bags, my suitcase, my computer bag, my brief case, under the seats of my car, everywhere. I knew I had it for at least part of the journey home.

Fearing I'd dropped it while making a quickie shopping detour, I chalked it up to being forever gone. So, I ordered a new one. The latest model. With my name engraved on the back. And, just a few short hours after receiving email notice that it had shipped, I found my old one.

When I say that I've always known that Murphy's Law followed me around, this is what I meant.
