$10 well spent

I participate in a Community Supported Agriculture program through our local farmer's market. Each week during the CSA, I receive a surprise bag of produce from local producers. I say surprise because you don't know what's in the bag until you get it. This week, it was blueberries, cukes, green beans, new potatoes, a loofa, and carrots.

I cooked up the carrots in salted water, when they were tender, drained them and dressed with a bit of butter and just a drop of honey. They very well may have been the best carrots I've ever eaten in my life.

Those carrots were enough to inspire me to get up at god-awlful o'clock this morning to hit up the Saturday morning tailgate market. Sadly, I didn't get anymore carrots, but here's what I got for a crisp $10 bill:

2 lbs of fresh peas
1 large head of romaine lettuce
2 pints of super sweet blueberries.

I could have skipped one of the pints of blueberries and gotten some squash and more cukes . . . or green tomatoes for frying. But, who doesn't love munching blueberries until your poo is green?
