Dispelled

I have a friend who is a bit on the extreme end of the hippie spectrum. Don't get me wrong, I can bear my breasts to the moonlight with the best of them, but I'm never going to be thought of as extreme.


My friend has lots of food allergies/sensitivities and thus has become more informed about the industrio-food complex than anyone wants to know. Earlier this year, she had a baby. She is trying to be more open to her food choices with the baby, but finds it a struggle.

I have to admit, given her views on food products, she is one of the few friends I've not cooked for to celebrate the birth. I was a bit afraid I'd mistakenly use a product she has views on.

A few weeks ago, I volunteered for an afternoon of babysitting. I felt sure that I could follow my friend's instructions and not corrupt the child in just a couple of hours.

So, imagine my delight when I opened her fridge to retrieve a treat for the baby and found this:
