I do love a swank hotel

Say what you will about lawyers . . . and trust me, I have . . . but they sure know how to throw a party.

This week, I am at a legalese training. Generally, when I attend trainings related to work, we hole up for 2.5 days in a mid-level hotel, work morning, noon, and even after dinner and cram 5 days worth of meetings and trainings and "working lunches" into as short a time as possible. I usually hate them and morph into full on Cranky Monkey before the first day is over.

But the attorneys . . . whoa! We are on a golf resort. Around the clock we have a can/bottled beverage station, a tea/lemonade station, and a coffee station available to us. We have a full snack bar with everything from various fresh fruits to chips and salsa and brownies laid out for us. The workshop sessions are a reasonable 1.5 hours and we had very nearly a TWO HOUR LUNCH. We don't start before 9am and we knock off at 4pm with cocktails available at 6pm.

I clearly messed up my career path. In my next life, I'm gonna be an attorney. I'll need to work on my short game between now and then. Oh, and develop an overblown sense of entitlement. Apparently, that works for some folks.

Entitlement is really easy to slip into, I think. Many people who you might think have a healthy sense of entitlement would probably tell you that they don't...
