A lesson in Carpe Diem

I generally like to think of myself as the type of monkey who can afford to fly by the seat of my pants because I did a good job of front-end planning. I'm a fun monkey to travel with . . . I'll look up restaurants, hot spots, transportation maps, etc. I travel prepared. But, once I arrive at my destination, I'm totally chill.

Sadly, my day to day often lacks such planning. Recently, I was reminded that a good plan means taking the time to do what you might miss out on later.

Specifically, I'm talking about a local landmark I meant to take a picture of the moment I first discovered it. But, now the landmark is gone and I'll never have a picture . . . just a memory.

It was the sign for a local book store. Sadly, the sign went up, and the store never managed to open . . . and now the sign is gone.

The sign was for . . .

Penni's bookstore.
