With thanks

Anyone who has been reading this blog for a while, or actually knows me and the Phenom knows that the Phenom is, well, um, let's just say "not an adventurous eater." For years, I have avoided telling, or out and out lied, about what's in the food. Yeah, I snuck tofu crumbles into the burritos back in my vegetarian days . . . what of it? You ate it.

And, as true with most children, the Phenom will eat things for other people that would never pass muster in our home. For years, any time I wanted asparagus . . . it was a lonely meal. There were other things I just never entertained even trying to serve . . . like roasted red peppers.

One of the long term effects of our brief "popularity" this spring was that we got several invites to eat in other people's homes. And, the list of foods the Phenom not only will eat, but likes has grown in amazing ways. Bison, Check. Lamb, check. Roasted red peppers, Check. We have also liked mojitos (after teasing me all last summer for my nightly mojito) asian noodles in peanut sauce and mufungo and ASPARAGUS!!!! You will never know how much I thank you for these developments.

Now, will someone please invite us over and serve mac and cheese? I will pay you if you can convince The Phenom it's as good as deviled eggs!
