My college roommate is getting married. She is the person who told me to stick with the Phenom, and was right.
She grew up in a small town, thinking she'd marry a local boy and live near her parents. Instead, she went off to school and found that her small town no longer fit afterwards. She moved to a city, got a good job, and waited. She had high standards and sometimes wondered if she were foolish for them. We all told her to stick to her standards.
She bought her own home. She made a close knit group of friends and worked really hard. And then she turned 40. And life changed. She was introduced to a nice man who also had standards. He spent the summer mowing her lawn and being a gentleman. Then, she left for a mission trip . . . and he realized he didn't want her out of his life.
She's getting married soon. She's waited long enough. She is happy she stuck to her standards. She is learning to put herself and her happiness before her work. She is giddy. And, giddy is catching.
