I know I have an addictive personality. I prefer to think of it as "focused." But, there it is. We've discussed my many addictions in earlier posts.
My newest is Webkinz. I honestly only got one because the Child was heavily into them, and I thought it would be a cute way to interact with her when I'm far away. Now, I'm addicted.
If you don't know what they are -- it's a stuffed animal with a special code you can use to register online. Once you register - you name your critter - and you get a room. You play games or answer quizzes to earn "dollars" that you can spend decorating your room, buying food and clothes, or expanding into new rooms. I have my main room with a jungle theme (my thing is a gorilla named Priscilla), I have a kitchen that's kinda bland, a yard with pool and trampoline and garden (you tend your garden each day and harvest food), a bathroom with toilet (your thing sits on the toilet, it flushes, and your thing makes some quip about the toilet) and a bathtub where I can cyber bathe my thing. I also have a living room which I haven't yet finished decorating but it has a beach theme -- oh - and my bathroom has an orange tree in it -- and I have a very cool play room with very cool toys you can actually play like air hockey and battleships and connect four and many toys and a treadmill - and I have a green house with lots and lots of plants.
There are daily and hourly things you can do to make money or get extra little things for your critter.
I'm completely addicted.
I tell the Phenom that it's teaching me valuable lessons like the value of working hard and earning money and spending money wisely and caring for another thing. I don't think the Phenom is buying this line of reasoning. But, there has been substantially less tormenting since I got hooked.
Fortunately, The Chick and I have a little get-away planned this week - and the time away from computers just might cure my affliction . . . . until next week.
