I was half listening to the "news" while doing dishes and feeding the freeloaders. I heard something about Lindsey Lohan being arrested for being drunk. Now, I wasn't totally listening - but that's what it sounded like between the plaintive cries of those who must be fed. The news reader pointed out that this is yet another in a long line of young, celebrity women being busted for infractions whilst drinking.
And I had a thought. It seems to me that the rash of celeb type girls being busted for boozing it is either proof that the "just say no" campaigns of the 80s finally worked and these girls are sticking to the stuff they can buy from the government (where I live, the government controls the sale of booze pretty carefully). Or, maybe the media has grown weary of these little things who don't do much to earn our respect flaunting the laws that would have the rest of us trading ciggies for protection.
Or, maybe the media learned that the public just loves to see celeb types go to jail? Now, I could say something about you humans being pretty sick numbers -- but I have to admit I'm addicted to the gossip crap too.
Gees - I need a hobby.
