Not to reveal too much, but events were such this evening that they merited tequila shots for everyone. YAY!
Not much of my birthday really "screamed" birthday. I did take the day off from the job. Slept a bit later than usual. But, I had grown up type errands to run this morning. The afternoon was absolutely beautiful - thanks to that Pennsylvania groundhog no doubt - so I harnessed up the pooch and took him to the park for a bit of flirting with the ladies. We watched a tennis match a bit - but were asked to leave when dog would bark at one of the players when he was winning. I wonder if he had money riding on the match?
I had a bit of unexpected work during the evening hours, and then tequila shots.
I love my birthday. Frankly, knowing that nothing much special was planned this year had me being quite a bad monkey. But, I realized why the Chick says that she doesn't like to feel that every birthday must be bigger and better than the last. She says it's the sure way to be disappointed. The Chick is wise.
But, I had many cards and well wishes. I had a couple of surprise well wishers which is always fun.
When you live in a cage, you never think about the future. Celebrating birthdays is unheard of. I think this is why, now that I don't live in a cage anymore, I relish the opportunity to celebrate. But, I'm learning that having an old friend pop up with candy and a hug is just as good as being whisked off to Paris. Especially since being whisked off to Paris never happens.
And, who thought birthday spankings were a good idea? Thus far, I've only managed to get a third of what I'm "owed" and since we are now just past midnight, it looks like I just might escape the rest this year.
