Night

I probably shouldn't be posting this annoyed. I actually have chills from the raw emotion I'm feeling.

Some asshat and "holocaust denier" assaulted holocaust survivor and author of the book Night, Elie Wiesel. According to news reports, a person yet to be identified, approached Wiesel in an elevator, claimed to be a reporter, and requested an interview. Wiesel agreed to speak to the person, but only in the lobby of the hotel they were in. The person then insisted that the interview must be conducted in a hotel room, and grabbed the elderly Wiesel, dragged him from the elevator, and started to beat him. When Wiesel called out for help, the coward ran away. Wiesel then went to the lobby and called the police.

I do not understand the phenomena of the latter day holocaust denier. I do not understand how people can fool themselves into believing that it never happened when the Nazis themselves were such good record keepers of their crimes. I also do not understand how anyone can find their lives so empty and devoid of responsibilities or activities that THIS is the issue they devote their lives to publicizing.

I hope that when the person who inflicted this harm is found, and the group this person represents is identified, that not only are they charged with assault and kidnapping, but also hate crimes.
