So, the media got all happy-pants about the post election slaughtering of Rumsfeld. Most media types clamored to say that this was a presidential concession to the voters. That clearly the voters had made themselves heard to the president.
Now, we have this memo supposedly penned by Rummy before he was canned breaking from the party line and suggesting that perhaps another plan for Iraq might be attempted.
I'm thinking that Rummy wasn't canned because of the elections -- I think he was canned because he actually said something contrary to what Dubya wanted to hear from his gaggle of "yes men." I think that Rummy went out on a limb, thought for himself - and you see where that got him.
And, to prove the pres. had no softening as far as the voters are concerned, he's nominated a dude to be in charge of the Dept. of Health and Human Services Family Planning Services who thinks that contraception of any kind demeans women. He is totally against any or all contraception - even for good christian, married ladies. That makes total Dubya sense, doesn't it?
