One of those Full Circle moments

Tonight, WS Random kidnapped us, again. She took us to a fancy smancy restaurant to celebrate yet another year of not going through with the whole murder/suicide pact. We were munching a delicious meal (and the 4th meal this week I've freeloaded - which must be a record). We were having a great conversation, and I noticed a young couple kissing. Then, I noticed that they were rather close together - I leaned a bit to the right and saw that the young man was on one knee and presenting a ring to the young lady. I shushed our party and said "he's proposing" -- about that time, the older ladies next to us looked over. When the couple kissed again, and he slipped the ring on her finger, we all applauded. The table of rather drunk people right next to this couple totally missed it and didn't know why the whole place went up into applause.

It is lovely to see young people just starting out - a bit uninformed, a bit dazed by the prospects of such a big commitment. Frankly, I never thought I'd have one of those lifetime type relationships with a human, myself. I have to get a bit sappy when I see others starting out when we're celebrating how far we've come in this winding pathway.

Also, I've always wanted to see a proposal like that. Sadly, there are laws against monkeys and humans marrying - and any proposal I might get would be capricious.

I am so JEALOUS! I have always wanted to bear witness to such an event! I hardly remember what the hubby said to me when he proposed. I wonder if I'm the only one whose mind got zapped at that moment?
