A bit on NPR this morning was about this guy who says he gets through airport security faster by not showing his ID. He says you instantly get bumped to the front of the line, the trade off being that they pretty carefully poke you and your stuff.
But, the dirty little secret revealed in the piece was that the law dictating the showing of IDs in the airport is actually considered "classified" and regular citizens aren't authorized to see it. Which is the exception to the rule that "ignorance of the law is no excuse for violating it."
Or, another way "we're all on double secret probation."
But, somehow, I think that if I never have to see Cheney in a toga, it's worth it.
