Jubilation!

"Jubilation!
She loves me again,
I fall on the floor,
and I'm laughing."
Cecila by Simon and Garfunkel

This afternoon, there was much sadness. My beloved iPod wouldn't give me a display screen. The music would play, but without the display screen, how do you scroll through the thousands and thousands of songs you have so lovingly loaded on to it?

I even called the Phenom at work to report the sadness. The Phenom promised to take me to an iPod store soon. Later, seeing me still sad and trying to breathe life into the iPod, the Phenom even promised to get me a new one if this one were truly dead.

Then, I read the directions. The iPod web site over and over again suggested "resetting" the iPod. I tried it. LO! HARK and Angels on High! It worked! The iPod Lives!! I did a happy monkey dance and crowed in delight. The Phenom told me to go feed the cats. I don't think the Phenom understands just how much I LOVE the iPod. The Phenom gave me the iPod back when they were all new and untested on the market. I was the first kid/monkey on the block to have one. I'm still something of a rarity -- not being some grunge kid on a skateboard but having an iPod. The Phenom gave me the iPod as a surprise gift -- and the Phenom doesn't give surprise gifts. The Phenom even had my name engraved on the back. So, more than just my ENTIRE music collection, all that lovey-dovey stuff is tied up in this little machine.

I think I want to go gaze upon it's lovely screen again.
