In retrospect, she's a peach

I love how fluid human perspective is.

For example: You've heard of my friend the Preacher Lady. She use to run a local charity that offered general and varied sort of of help in hopes of improving the lives of local folk as well as to help them see their way out of the cycle of poverty. It was a big job, it was connected to local churches, and it was thankless. She was paid far less than she was worth, and the job made her seriously ill more than once. One of her battles was keeping the staff in line.

You might assume that people involved in a charity operation and a church related endeavor might have a personal drive to not be slackers or attempt to apply their religious feelings towards their co-workers. That wasn't always the case.

When Preacher Lady left the charity for a much better position in a nice community where she is more appropriately appreciated, her staff acted as if she were betraying them by leaving and were less than grateful to her.

There is a new "sheriff" at the charity now. And, she's come in with guns blazing, according to staff reports. Of course, we only have the staff reports to go on, and we know how they treated Preacher Lady, so not completely reliable.

The lovely bit is that now, in light of the new director, Preacher Lady is thought of as a real peach of a boss, in retrospect.

You silly, fickle people.
