Party, Party, Party

The holiday party season has arrived. I love parties because they allow me to observe human behavior on a different scale. The first party was actually a birthday party - a party for a friend turning 60 years old. She had a grand time. I think there were between 50-75 people in attendance. The food was wonderful - and there were plenty of drinks flowing. My contribution was a double batch of macaroons (because a) the birthday girl loves them, and b) monkeys and coconuts just go together) and a batch of Margaritas with some very expensive liquors in them.

Every last one of the macaroons were eaten - and I've promised to make birthday girl another batch - and there were a couple good sized margaritas left which were tucked into the birthday girl's freezer for future use.

There was dancing, general silliness, long conversations, and the presentation of frig magnets commenting on age -- my favorite was "death before maturity".

The second was a party for the co-workers of The Phenom. I brought a huge bowl of cooked shrimp and homemade cocktail sauce. Most of the people at this party are people I see on a regular basis - only this time they have their husbands, wives, partners with them. Interesting to see the difference between the work and personal selves.

I can report that I've seen Sparkle and Mrs. Sparkle - and I'm sad to report that all hints of Sparkle's secret life is just that again - secret. Very Sad.
