Sigh

How humans memorialize their dearly departed varies.  Headstones? Statues? Collections of flowers/crosses/teddy bears left at the scene of a tragic end?  Online memorials?

This morning, I discovered that the facebook page for my friend who died last month has been deleted. There were some wonderful memorials and pictures on his page.  It was nice to look it up and see new comments people who also loved him had left.

There isn't a grave I can visit.  There won't be any statues.  Now, his digital footprint is receding.  And, I understand better why humans want something tangible to associate with those they've lost forever.
