As we have more sunny days, and the temps are starting to creep up, I find my self mentally counting down until I can full on plant.
The lime tree is leafing out, so it didn't get killed in our bizarro winter. The remaining blueberry is also getting leaves, so not dead. I replaced the dead blueberry, but it isn't looking too healthy. Blueberries may be a struggle in this yard.
I planted marigolds in the crop circle and cosmos along the shed. Neither is coming up yet. I also planted, this week, spinach and basil and cilantro seeds. Also, not up yet.
I did see peony shoots coming up. This makes me insanely happy. I love peonies.
I'm trying to decide the exact configuration of the rest of the crop circle. I think this year, the two types of peas will go into the middle ring, with the outer for squash, radishes, more basil, and perhaps cukes.
I have this planter tray my horticulture agent promises will wow me. I think a couple heirloom tomatoes in that. That leaves one planter open . . . perhaps a jalapeno?
I'm getting the garden in earlier than usual. After the winter we had, I just can't wait much longer for spring and fresh veggies.
