The Best of the Season

I'm funny about sentimentality. On one hand, I often wear my heart outside my skivvies and can cry all too easily. On the other, I'm not caught up in all that family/holiday/traditional stuff either. I like baking for holidays but that's pretty much it. This year, I plan to spend christmas sleeping in and then in my jammies.

But, I do like getting kiddie gifts. I just ordered a load of books and activities for one friend's children. I'll order a few more goodies before I'm done.

The most fun has been the Angel Tree shopping. One of my charitable committees is for a group that provides assistance to young, first time mothers. The idea is to give intensive assistance to increase the likelihood of a healthy mother and child, good parenting, and keeping the mother in school. Most of the mothers/babies in the program struggle with basics. ESK and I decided to take on 4 babies for our Angel Tree shopping. I bought monkey themed outfits. I bought educational toys. I bought little bitty socks.

It was probably the most fun I'll have this holiday season.
