Sunday Morning Breakfast

I make darn tasty waffles. I use a recipe I got from the Old Woman. It is so simple, I can't believe people would ever use a mix.

Waffles:

3 tbls butter, melted
1 egg
1 cup whole buttermilk

Whisk together the egg and buttermilk, then the melted butter.

1 1/4 cup SELF RISING FLOUR
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tbls sugar

Mix dry ingredients, then add in the wet and mix. Don't worry about getting all the lumps out. Make waffles according to your maker's instructions.

Variations: at holiday time, I add a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg. Sometimes, I like to finely grate orange zest and add a bit of vanilla powder.

I top my waffles with real butter, real maple syrup, and today, sliced peaches. Fresh, sliced peaches with a drizzle of maple syrup on them is out of this world!
