The secret to life is . . . .

apparently, to sleep an extra 15 minutes.

I was back at school. I was hanging out in the Pit, talking with friends. They got up to go to class. Since I didn't have class yet, I decided to go seek out the person I was going to be doing my work study with for the year. He happened to be crossing the Pit at that exact moment with a gaggle of students following him.

I walked up, extended my hand and introduced myself, explaining that I would be doing my work study with him this year. So, Mahatma Gandhi and I sat down at a table outside the University Center to talk.

He asked me about the social justice and human service work I'd already done. We talked about our goals for social justice, and just when he was going to lay some enlightenment on me, my alarm clock went off. I even remember saying to myself "you can't interrupt the Mahatma."

Sigh. I'd be an enlightened monkey now if I weren't so anal about getting to work early.
