And, it wasn't me

Somehow, and I totally don't know how, I have managed to be pinned with a reputation of being something of a hot head. No . . . you shut up . . . I'm delightful, damn it!

I think it is in some odd way related to the fact that EVERYONE, and I do mean everyone, seems to think they need to remind me to "behave." I assume they mean "behave in a manner that we consider socially acceptable" . . . I prefer to think that everything I do while awake is technically behaving.

So, I'm kinda crowing to myself (and others, I'm not modest) that today the person who totally lost their shit and cussed out the wrong person at the wrong time WAS NOT me. (I know . . . you totally didn't see that coming . . . me either.)

The regional manager was checking in on a bunch of branches today. There were staggered appointments, but anyone who has been through this process before knows that the longer the day drags on, the later the manager becomes. It is just one of those little things we put up with to keep our jobs. I usually like to get the earliest possible appointment, but am completely prepared to spend my whole day sitting behind my desk if need be. Yes, I do know how to kiss an ass, why do you ask?

So, about an hour after the scheduled time, the manager showed up in my office today. She was utterly flustered. (And, I'm happy to report that she was so flustered, she seemed to not notice that at the exact moment she walked in, I was in fact doing a bit of on-line wasting of time.)

The good news for me, was that I wasn't the cause of her upset. Apparently, the newest branch manager didn't understand that the appointment time was really more a suggestion. Five minutes past the appointment time, this newbie called up the regional manager and his head completely exploded all over her voice mail. Expletives were used. I think there was even a reference to the manager's parent being unmarried. It was ugly.

The even better news for me is that the regional manager just took a copy of my report, didn't ask to many questions, and was out the door in record time.

I'm wondering if there will be a new branch manager job open tomorrow?
