My Perfect Day

I woke up leisurely. I had a doctor's appointment . . . but not early like usual . . . so I could take my time in the morning. My doctor says I'm her favorite patient . . . but I think it's because I bring her treats. I've found that people who poke you with needles are often really caring about how hard they jab if you give them treats.

Then, I drove up to the big city. While driving, I finally got to chat on the phone with the Chick. I ate one of my favorite restaurants. I sat at the bar and had two charming young men waiting on me hand and foot. I left beyond full. I got to wander a World Market and buy nibbly and cute things. (flashing bath froggies for the Chick's chicklet!) I also stumbled on a groovy cool radio station that plays something other than that icky top 40 crap the local stations play. I actually recognized some of the groups as being those Chick talks about.

Then, I continued my shopping spree . . . I bought shoes and cigars. After a bit of economic stimulus . . . I drove out to see my old roommate and meet the beloved. I got to hear about the wedding planning . . . and scritch the cat . . . and eat a tasty meal.

I drove home with fairly clear roads and great sing-a-long tunes from the iPod. And, now, I'm going to head to bed early because the rest of the week is going to be a grind.
