Anyone who reads The Chick knows that she has something of a crush on the group Wilco. She has sneaky ways of inflicting, passing along her crushes on those who know her. She sneaks songs from her favorite artists into play lists . . . she sings the lyrics when you're out drinking with her.
Well, knowing that I'm really more attracted to the preppy type, and the Chick loves the "dirty hippie boy" . . . I've always kinda resisted looking into Wilco. Just chalk it up to one of those weird things like kids who will clean up for anyone but their parents . . . or the Phenom who will eat new and unusual things for anyone but me. And, I'm pretty comfortable with my "old foggie" status of just shaking my head at you kids and your music today.
Another blogger I read from time to time is Space Monkey Pants. How could you not be curious about a blog called Space Monkey Pants? Well, Space Monkey Pants is having a very bad summer owing to the sudden death of his much loved father. On his blog, he posted this video of Wilco singing Sky Blue Sky. Out of respect for Space Monkey Pants, I watched it. Although I'm not so enamoured with the dirty hippie boys . . . the song didn't suck and I can see how it might hit just the right chord in someone.
And the bonus is that it will make the Chick so very happy.
