Brilliant Business Idea

I love how several seemingly unrelated events will lead to a single, brilliant idea. A long time ago, we had a neighbor who had a little boy with a "mild" disability. The boy had a stroke at birth, and with rigorous physical therapy, had learned to walk, if not a tad wobbly. One day, I happened to be outside our house, the boy's father had run inside for a minute to answer the phone, and in that minute some local dogs attacked the little boy. I chased the dogs off, and luckily the little boy was knocked down, frightened, but mostly unharmed.

Shortly afterwards, another friend and I were discussing something he'd read about how expensive 'gator meat was and how the hides were worth big bucks too.

And, our idea for the Free Range Gator Farm was born. I suggested that Free Range Gators would rid my neighborhood of mean little dogs who attack small children. Of course, there was the issue of making sure no small children found themselves in the path of a Free Range Gator.

Of course, since we were both drinking and really clueless as to how to obtain the gators, the idea was forgotten. But, in the last several days, I have found myself in two separate conversations about gators and how they seem to be taking over more turf in the Southern US of A. And, yeah, we've revived the idea of the Free Range Gator Farm . . . with a good sound fence.

P.S. . . . I love the gator comments . . . I took that picture in New Orleans last month. Good zoom on my camera. Really good zoom on the camera.
