Today, I attended one of those "upper management trainings" . . . think The Office's Diversity Day episode. Only, boring and no bad videos.
One long speaker after another . . . breaking up into small groups to chat about this issue or that one . . . discussions of laws and policies.
I spent much of the afternoon observing the many tactics my colleagues use to stay awake, or appear to stay awake. There was the open yawning . . . ME. There was the shuffling of feet, the nibbling of snacks, the silently tapping out songs with the butt-end of a pen, and my fave . . . the woman who spent much of the afternoon massaging and gently slapping her own face to stay awake.
Even one of the speakers seemed to space out during the day. That's bad.
But, ask me about the American's with Disabilities Act . . . I dare you . . .

Oh lordy, I don't miss that stuff, lol.
Speaking of staying awake during boring sessions...
I'm down at a conference in Orlando, FL, this week. We're talking 2-hr long technical sessions. Fortunately, I have my laptop to keep me awake.
But yesterday in the middle of a session, there was one guy sitting up near the front. His head was tilted all the way back and he was sleeping. But then he slipped and fell completely out of his chair. :-)
