Some folks know how to host people . . . some don't. I once stayed at a person's home who served me and the other guests fish, full of bones, on their patio. . . after dark . . . by candlelight. . . and the wind kept blowing out the candles. It was a precarious meal to say the least.
The Chick is a great host. Both she and her lovely Hub like seeing their guests have a good time. They put lots of thought into making their guest room fun and comfy. And one of her little tricks. . . which I copy . . . is that she always has a dish of good candies out for her guests.
One of my tricks, especially when we are having food that needs to be eaten with the hands . . . like shrimp, mudbugs, or fried chicken . . . I like to have a dish of rolled up white wash cloths . . . with slices of lemon tucked in between each cloth . . . and before I serve dessert . . . I like to pour boiling water over the cloths . . . and then use wooden tongs to hand them to my guests. Everyone LOVES the hot cloths for cleaning up . . . and I think it makes for a nice transition to dessert.
Another feature of visiting our home . . . if you are in the market for a cat/kitten . . . we are always ready to oblige. Funny how no one thinks we're serious with the offer.

You sound like wonderful hosts. Actually, I think you should get even more cats. I’d like to tell you that my hilariously funny book, The World Is Your Litter Box, is in bookstores now and is also available on Amazon. The book is cleverly disguised as a cute cat book so humans will buy it, but is, in fact, a how-to manual FOR cats. Check it out on my website, www.theworldisyourlitterbox.com
Why have I never left the Bongo house with a cat? I keep trying to take one home and they keep jumping out of my suitcase? What gives?
Incidentally, I used to always like to put fresh flowers in the guestroom and guest bath for my guests. However, the wild movements of Little Boy put that lovely touch to an end....
