I held the dog, while the Phenom tried to pick the little dear up with a shovel and move it to the other side of the fence. Unfortunately, every time it was picked up, it scrambled off the shovel . . . and then would play 'possum.
I picked up the dog, and put him in the bath room (safe from our murderous cats) and decided to help in the moving of the furball. It was not amused.
I used a shovel and a broom to gently encourage it to move across the yard towards our neighbor's yard. I finally managed to get it through the fence. Then I put the dog on a leash and instructed the Phenom to take a long walk. I stayed behind to watch and see what the near rat did. It immediately came back into our yard, and rambled over to another corner of our yard. It managed to find it's way into some ivy . . . but then seemed to get lost because I could see it going in circles. FINALLY it found the fence and went through. As I turned to leave, I noticed a neighborhood cat not far away watching the thing's progress.
I fear there will be fresh kill on my door step in the morning.

Ooohh...cats always win in those situations ;)
Yikes! What an evil looking little varmint! I don't think I'd complain if it turned back up as a "fresh kill." ;-)
