Legal Birthday

I have a friend who is a lawyer. And, not even annoying in that star jones sort of way. This lawyer friend is curious about the world, scary smart, and fun. (She isn't a trial lawyer . . . she doesn't sue people . . . so, she's not sticky either)

Anyway, Thursday I was out with the pooch when I ran into my lawyer friend. She made nice with pooch . . . and, as is his habit he was much better behaved for her than he ever is for me. As we were parting, she coyly looked at me and said "today is the first day of my birthday." Apparently, she likes her birthday so much she, in her legal wisdom, has declared that her birthday be celebrated for five days. (GENIUS!!) She also said she likes to use the peer pressure of telling people it's her birthday to make them sing to her.

Tomorrow I'm going to make her a choco-treat. But that won't be her real gift . . . her real gift is that she will be able to taunt others that she has a choco treat and they don't.

Because it takes evil to know evil.
