Local Favorite

I made a dessert last night that is a local favorite . . . and I thought I'd pass along the instructions.

FRIED POUND CAKE

in a non-stick frying pan, over med. heat, melt several thin slices of butter . . . and when the butter is nice and bubbly, put in several slices of homemade pound cake. Fry as you would a grilled cheese sandwich, adding more butter and turning over the slices until nicely browned.

put a slice of cake on each plate and top with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.

You'll wonder why anyone would ever eat pound cake plain.
