Heaven's no, it wasn't me

At least not me being the "indiscreet" one. I did however walk in on my boss in this situation once.

I bring it up because yesterday ESK an I had a conversation in which such indiscretions became the topic of interest. My reaction was to turn tail and run away and never speak of it again. And, never actually make eye contact with either party again.

Apparently, a co-worker also walked in on such a scene. However, I noted, her reaction was somewhat different. She realized immediately that this could mean pay off for her. For the next couple of years, the co-worker got away with amazing things . . . like staying out of work without leave time but not losing wages either . . . having her job tasks assigned to other workers, etc.

ESK and I wondered if this couldn't be a test of one's character. There has to be a character/personality quirk that makes one savvy to any situation they can turn into their immediate advantage. And there must be something that makes folks turn and run.

In the long run, however, I prevailed . . . the co-worker was charged with criminal behaviors she thought the boss would protect her from . . . and I got a promotion . . . and we used voodoo to chase away the boss. So, win-win-win, no?
