Last night, taking advantage of a rare night off . . . thank you writer's strike . . . we had a date night. My first choice was Japanese . . . but the Phenom wasn't feeling it. Plus, too many of the wannabes crowd that place. So, we went to the restaurant the Chick and I went to several months back.
Phenom asked why I wanted to go there . . . since I don't like the place. I explained that it's kinda a sick fascination. S0rt of like when the Old Woman declares something she's made to be inedible but yet proceeds to eat it all. Either you tell yourself that surely, it couldn't have been really as bad as it is . . . or you want to figure out what exactly makes it so bad.
Last night didn't start out good . . . both beers I tried to order were unavailable and the little clueless, bleached waiter tried to ignore my request for water. The food wasn't great . . . they obviously are cutting corners in hopes of making a bigger profit. Although, the Phenom didn't have complaints about the blackened catfish.
However, about midway through our meal, I noticed the owner come in with his own date. Some very young thing who clearly was thinking herself very important for being with the owner. She played with her phone. She sat quietly by herself . . . munching chips . . . while the owner glad-handed the better known customers.
When we got home, the conversation centered around two questions. One, I assume that the owner eats free. I've seen him there lots and I've never seen him pay for his food. So, how cheap of a date is it that he brings little young things to his restaurant for a free meal? What does that say about what he thinks or feels about you? And, does it say more about yourself esteem that you'll sit quietly in a corner munching chips while your date is talking to everyone but you?
And the second question is . . . if the restaurant experience and food sucks, do you keep dating him knowing that you'll be taken there night after night for more cheap dates? And, how much does a girl "put out" for such a date? (I know, I know . . . the custom of "putting out" for a date is hopefully a practice that no longer exists . . . but I doubt that particular girl got the memo.)

lol @ got the memo.
Okay...that's way more than just 2 quesions! You've given me a lot to think about here.
Maybe she likes the attention of being out with the owner. And I'd be puttin out as much as he put in.
...that didn't sound right.
I just can't even believe you went back there. Shoney's probably would have been better. McD's would have been better!
