Props

I've been at this blog for about a year and a half now. I've learned some interesting skills, shared my drunkeness, waxed poetic, and fretted over blog hits.

I read several blogs daily, others weekly. I've fallen out of love with some bloggers. Others, I love more with each post. I've been envious of those bloggers who seem to have captured lightning in a bottle and manage to support their families with their writings. I don't know if I'm envious of the income they generate or if it's that they make their living writing.

But, truth be told, despite my achings to earn my living with my brain and fingers, (oh, that sounded mildly dirty, in a nerdy sort of way, didn't it?) I've not taken up the opportunities to totally pimp out my blog with ads and "product reviews" and blog rent and what have you.

Frankly, it thrills me to my little monkey toes when I check my site meter and find that I have a new reader in India or England or Japan or Illinois. I'm in awe that someone who has no relationship obligation to read this blog finds the time to look over my musings. And, I'm thrilled when I get feed back from the humans I know and love who took the time to read it too.

Thanks y'all. You have no idea what it does to my little monkey ego.
