This is Us

I have a new favorite song. A friend gave me a burned CD of Mark Knopfler music. One of the songs is called "this is us" and is about a couple and their life through pictures. It's so sweet it makes me want to cry.

I was going to write this whole long post about this song, and relate it to our holidays. The Phenom and I traveled to Appalachia for a visit with the old folks for the holiday. I got to show the Phenom the area in which my "human" persona was formed. It was going to be full of sweetness and light.

But, then snow was forecast for the region and the old lady ran us off early. And we spent the evening becoming rather drunk. And frankly, all the sweetness and light has just vanished. However, it does seem that my little monkey fingers are just FLYING across the key board tonight. Being that we are both drunk, there is no reliable man or beast here to judge if I'm plodding along or actually flying. I do hear a buzzing noise, but that could be my own brain.

I just love the feeling of my face and noggin being numb.

Happy holidays, ya'll!
