Monkey of the Year

So, Time Magazine revealed the "person of the year" this weekend. I, for one, think they totally cheesed out and went with the weenie choice. Surely, someone in the public eye is more worthy of being named person of the year than "You."

I would totally get it if they were making some point about how totally self absorbed and individualistic we have become as a society, and how perhaps we might all be better off if we'd stop worrying so much about our reflections. But, they had no such lofty goal. They totally pandered to the self absorbed public and made up some crap about people making up the content of the internet. Oh puleeze.

I have decided that I will name myself "monkey of the year" -- because I am the only monkey I know with a blog. And, because I'm a monkey with a finger on the pulse of humanity. And, because being self-absorbed and individualistic is very "in" right now.

In fact, I think I shall make my new years resolution now. I resolve that in the new year, I will come ever closer to achieving humanity by becoming even more self absorbed than I already am.

Oh yeah - I would have named Warren Buffet person of the year, 'cause he isn't self absorbed. That makes him a trend setter, I hope.
