I have this eerie feeling I ought to explain some comments in the last post. I hope that no one thinks that I was assigning a value judgement to anything going on in the arab world. I think my regular readers can probably guess what side of the fence I tend to lead towards. And, I can understand arguements for and against the death penalty as a matter of justice.
And, I believe that when elected officials, law enforcement types, or dictators commit grievious crimes, they ought to be held to the same standards of justice as any downtrodden or regular person. (Truth be told, I kinda expect people who OUGHT to know better to be better -- I know - it's not really fair, but there you have it.)
The fact of the execution of a head of state as a matter of justice is history. How that history will be analyized and viewed is left to the future.
