Migration Patterns of Underpants

There is a new life form in my neighborhood. Underpants. Green Underpants.

The underpants were first observed last week. They were lying in the street. After the Phenom and I both approached and determined that they were not underpants we knew intimately, we left them alone. Frankly, I assumed that the underpants would just wander off.

It is now a week later, and the underpants are still hanging around in the street. They seem unaffected by passing cars and trucks. Also, they show no fear around the local cats or other wildlife.

I have noticed that they move, although only small distances. For several days, the underpants seemed to be trying to decide if they wanted to live in my yard or the yard across the street. Today, I noticed they had made quite a bit of movement northwards up the street.

I don't know if anyone in the neighborhood has been feeding them - or perhaps they are like the snails you put in aquariums -- they eat the stuff that grows on the sides. I just hope they don't start multiplying. If this turns into a street overrun with underpants, I'll have to consider moving.
