Okay, it's another post about a cat. Pathetic. Sad. I know. But, don't humans have sad, pathetic moments too? And, sometimes, don't they decide to randomly call some unknown person and be sad, pathetic at an obscene hour? Of course they do - because that is why I'm awake and blogging at 7:30am on a Sunday Morning.
So, which would you rather hear? The cute kitty story or the boo creepy caller story? I know, you perverts, you want the boo creepy caller first.
The phone rings very very early this morning. It is some dude who at first tries to sound as if he actually has a distressing situation and thus I don't hang up on him immediately. I think he counted on this. Sound pathetic enough, and the "humans" out there will TRY to help you.
Then he started recounting his latest gay sex episodes.
Unfortunately, for boo creepy caller, he didn't reach a human. Words like "mental condition" and "police" were used.
So, to offer counter point to my boo creepy caller, the baby cat is being particularly cute. Too bad she's not human, her cuteness might work to restore some faith in humans.
In my kitchen, we have a table. Baby cat is particularly fond of observing my behavior from the table. Today, in one of the chairs, there is a shirt that was draped over the back but has now fallen into the chair. In the same chair is a box the size of an oversized book with some bubble wrap sticking up from it. The baby, standing on her back legs (and looking a bit human herself - but until she can master typing, she'll never pass), started to tap the box. I thought she was trying to get it into a position where she could play with the bubble wrap or climb in the box. She eventually slid the box out of the chair and on to the floor. I watched to see what mischief she was up to. But, instead, she hopped up onto the chair, and made a bed of the shirt.
I think this is roughly what you humans would think of as evidence of intelligence. She saw what she wanted and the obstacle to getting it - and enacted a behavior to rid herself of the obstacle.
Now if kitties can demonstrate simple intelligence, why can't the boo creepy caller?
