Monster brides and more

Okay - I know I've commented on the show Bridezillas before. I know, it's not terribly interesting to read over and over the same basic stuff. However, I continue to be gobsmacked over this show. Last night's episode featured a monstrous bride - and we totally got to see where she got her attitude because her mother went out of her way to try to upstage her daughter -- including buying a "hootchie mama" dress for the reception. The mother invited so many of her personal friends to the wedding, that she told her daughter that either she and her soon-to-be spouse would have to uninvite some of their friends (the week of the wedding) or foot the bill for the "extras" themselves. The girl was so overwrought by the time it came to walking down the aisle that she sobbed all the way to the alter and through half the wedding. Later the mother complained that her daughter had managed to steal the limelight away from her by crying. I can't even imagine what that upbringing must have been like -- to have a mother who openly competes with her children for public attention. It almost made me grateful for the cage -- almost.

As for other business -- I know, I spend too much time complaining and whining in this blog. Well, I thought ya'll would like to hear me gush with unfettered enthusiasm. In the Super Bongo's office, we are undertaking a new project which will be difficult and very different from what we've done in the past. One of the requirements was to solicit buyer from the community to help represent our new product/project. I was a bit skeptical about how cooperative our regular customers would be. Within an hour of sending out the invites - one had already stopped by our office to sign up and two more emailed back saying they'd sign on. It just warmed the deepest, darkest places in the Super Bongo's heart.
