This a newish sort of thing for me. I generally can sleep standing up in the midst of chaos. Perhaps being up has to do with the bit of worry over the whole "being outted" bit, or it may have something to do with the three hour nap I took late in the day. Either way, I generally am not awake at this hour and NOT partying my monkey butt off.
I did have another road side feast, well sort of, this weekend. The Phenom and I traveled to the capital of the state in search of tasties. We heard that there were crawdaddies to be found. But, alas and alack! There were none. But, we did find crabs and shrimps. Not exactly on the side of the road - but a "hole in a wall" type road side shack with a fine reputation. Since we were so near to our friends who are the parents of The Child. We popped in on them. We had a huge feast of terrific foods -- including some rather excellent pies. Humans do wonderful things with pie. Generally, monkeys throw together some mud and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of grass or flowers and call it "pie." But, you Humans have really elevated "pie" to an art form.
So, another fine afternoon and evening was spent with good friends, excellent food, and the gentle ambiance of a patio. Because of The Child, there was tumbling, playing horsey, frisbee, and rolling in the lawn. Which is to be expected when there is a child about.
Maybe I can sleep if I figure out what sort of disguise I should adopt for the office tomorrow? Perhaps a handlebar mustache? Pleather spats? Green hair? I think I have a witch's hat with fake green hair left over from a halloween party years ago. I wonder if a witch's hat would attract the wrong sort of attention? Probably ought to stick with the mustache.
