Lemonade and Memorial Day Thought

Click on the title for a story if you don't believe me.

Doctors have found that drinking lemonade can help prevent kidney stones. Being a Monkey, and loving fruit in all forms, I've always loved lemonade. Now, I have an even better excuse to drink it in mass quantities. Doctors do caution against drinking loads of lemonade made with sugar. So, for the treat tonight, I'm going to give you my recipe for lemonade without actual sugar.

In an 2 quart pitcher, mix 1 cup splenda, 1 cup lemon juice. Fill with water. VOILA! Lemonade without sugar or calories. If you like a sweeter lemonade, you can always add a bit more splenda. Happy Kidneys!

On to the Memorial Day thought. The Phenom just told me it was Memorial Day and explained that it was more than the first real holiday of summer or an excuse to grill large chunks of meat. It's meant to be a day to remember the dead. More specifically, the military dead.

For a while now, I've been thinking that there is something really ass backwards thing about this war in the middle east. It seems to me that we have this handful of humans who are willing to sacrifice their daily lives, their relationships, their time with their children for something a bit bigger than they are. This is a human trait that is much applauded and probably the one thing that makes humans different from other critters. So why are we killing off those humans and keeping the mean, selfish, and criminally minded in our society? Shouldn't we be doing whatever we can to keep the strong, bright, and brave and getting rid of the dead weight?

Just a thought. Imagine how different the war would be if we dropped Lay and Skilling in the middle of the desert with a gun and a bottle of water? Imagine how different corporate America would be if crime were rewarded with conscription?

I think I need another glass of lemonade.
